PEST CONTROL AID I (SR-07)

Salary:  $1,899 monthly

Perform simple tasks under the direction and close supervision of Plant Quarantine inspectors during inspection of plant materials and other related duties as assigned.

PEST CONTROL AID II (SR-09)

Salary:  $2,057 monthly

Perform routine tasks under close to general supervision of Plant Quarantine inspectors during inspections of plant material and other related duties as assigned.

PEST CONTROL TECHNICIAN III (SR-11)

Perform fairly complex sub-professional duties under general supervision of Plant Quarantine inspectors.  May supervise plant pest control aids in support of higher-level professional pest inspection activities and perform other related duties as assigned.

The HDOA Veterinary Laboratory invites applicants to apply for a full time, permanent position as Veterinary Medical Officer II, requiring a doctor's degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited college or university, and at least 2 years professional veterinary medical experience.  A valid veterinary license to practice in Hawaii must be obtained within 6 months of employment. The position is located on Oahu but provides statewide disease diagnostic activities primarily for the livestock/poultry industries by performing laboratory diagnoses and epidemiological investigation of disease outbreaks and participating in field surveillance testing and animal health quality assurance programs.  For further information, call (808) 483-7130 or e-mail to [email protected].  

MAUI:
VETERINARY MEDICAL OFFICER II (Livestock Disease Control Branch, part-time, temporary)

Salary:  $24.67 per hour
Position is responsible for planning and implementing services to the livestock industry for Maui including detection, control, eradication and prevention of diseases of economic or zoonotic importance. The work includes examining exposed animals for symptoms of disease; visiting backyard farmers, dairies, ranches; and consulting with private practitioners on treatment and prevention and the enforcement of all livestock and poultry import regulations throughout the island.
