NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ADMINISTRATIVE RULES FOR PESTICIDES

Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), and other applicable laws, notice is hereby given that the Hawaii Department of Agriculture (Department) will hold public hearings to receive testimony on proposed amendments to Hawaii administrative Rules (HAR) Title 4, Subtitle 6, Chapter 66, “Pesticides.”

Copies of the proposed rules may also be obtained at the above offices by paying a fee for photocopying or may be sent by mail upon request by paying a fee for photocopying and postage.

The Department of Agriculture will continue to accept written testimony developed after the hearings until October 22, 2006 at the Department’s Pesticides Branch, 1428 South King Street, Honolulu Hawaii 96814-2512.

 Special modifications, e.g. sign language interpretation, large print, taped materials, accessible parking, can be provided if requested 4 days in advance of a hearing.  This request may be made in writing to one of the addresses above or by calling (808)973-9401.

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

The Department of Agriculture anticipates for the 2006-2007 fiscal year the need for the following professional services, including, but not limited to:

  1. Agricultural Engineering (physical facilities)

  2. Appraisal (agricultural lease rents, crop evaluation, and easements-ditch/pipeline)

  3. Cadastral Engineering (including surveyors)

  4. Civil Engineering

  5. Environmental Permitting; EA and EIS Preparation

  6. Water Resource Studies

  7. Construction Project Management Services

  8. Electrical Engineering

  9. Structural Engineering

  10. Mechanical Engineering

  11. Hydroelectric Engineering

  12. Archaeology

Individuals or firms interested in being considered for selection, are invited to submit a DPW Form 120 or a Federal Standard Form 330 and a letter of interest together with the following information:

  1. Name of firm or individual, principal place of business, and location of all of its offices;

  2. Age of the firm and its average number of employees over the past years;

  3. Education, training, and qualification of key members of the firm;

  4. Names and phone numbers of up to 5 clients who may be contacted, including two for whom services were rendered during the preceding year; and

  5. Any promotional or descriptive literature which the individual or firm desires to submit.

A list of projects or services provided to the Department and experience with agricultural type projects will be helpful for the Department to determine qualification of the applicant.  If you wish to be considered for multiple categories, submit only one letter of interest, specifying all categories you are interested in.  The DPW Form 120 is available at: http://www4.hawaii.gov/StateFormsFiles/dpw 120 6-99.doc.

All submittals shall be received no later than 12:00 noon, June 30, 2006, c/o Agricultural Resource Management Division, 1428 South King Street, Honolulu, HI 96814-2512.  Submittals received after the deadline of June 30, 2006 will be considered "Late".  Qualified "Late" applicants will be considered for projects for the balance of the fiscal year by the following schedule:
